i must say i am a bit disappointed about bono being called to speak on courtney love's behalf. what do you all think?
i think this is far beyond a yoko ono situation. i think the two remaining members of nirvana should have a large say in what happens.
what do you think about bono speaking on her side? i'm sure he has good reasons for what he is doing (after all, he is bono)...

the surviving members of nirvana were in court against courtney love, fighting, i believe, over who has the rights to the music and who gets to make decisions regarding what to release in the future. they had originally formed a group together to make decisions, maybe 6 or 7 years ago, but courtney alleges she was high when she signed the contract and thus it's void, or so she says. anyway, in the battle, bono is or was testifying on her behalf. it might be in the archives on this site, as this is where i originally saw it. i find her immensely irritating and perpetually milking the publicity of her husband's death.

what, Bono, you can't answer that for yourself? but seriously, I think Bono prides himself on being a peacemaker in such situations. perhaps that is what he is trying to do. no matter how much it irritates me (and it does), he probably has his reasons. it's like who would we want to have control over U2's stuff if bono happened to pass away? ali or edge/larry/adam? not that the other members of nirvana gave as much, but i still think the band is the creative force, not the wife. especially not that atrocity. sorry, don't mean to vent SO much. thanks for listening, guys.

Definitly agree with you on that! Even if the band as a whole didn't write the songs, they wouldn't have been what they were without the drummer, guitarist etc. working just as hard.
