I think it means that he's a narcissist who thinks of himself as some sort of religious figure instead of a middle-aged man who sings for a pop band.

Andrew, just why are you on this board. If you don't like U2 then that's fine. We all have our opinions. But don't you have some kind of life? Try websites of music you DO like, go out and go see live music. Stop being a negative person. You have one life - go and enjoy it!!
